About the event
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s… climate action on bikes?
Summer in Portland means Pedalpalooza: a series of wonderful convoluted alibis for biking in outrageous outfits (or in nothing at all.) You might not have gotten around to attending the “Barbra Streisand Shabbat” Pedalpalooza or any of the others—perhaps because you’re so diligently trying to save the environment that you haven’t made it to any rides.
Now you can do both! Climate Curious and our friends at 350PDX are combining forces to host the Become a Climate Superhero Ride.
The signal in the sky says to convene at Irving Park at 6pm on Monday August 28th. Come dressed as whatever you see a climate superhero looking like—spandex, jeans, all hero looks are welcome. We'll have capes on hand for anyone who wants to add one to their costume. Once capes are fitted and legs are stretched we’ll take flight (so to speak) at around 6:15pm for a 5 mile route that will take about 40 minutes. When we land at Mocks Crest, get ready for a full-on climate action fair. There’ll be activities and stations where our hosts will brief us on a wide variety of critical missions that need accomplishing—including grassroots work, legislative lobbying, career building, and more. 350PDX’s monthly action night is always an energizing time, and we’re excited to be their sidekick for this fair.
With our powers combined…!
A hero's salute to our sponsors Looptworks, Bivalve, and the MCJ Collective for making this escapade possible.
